You refer to this mysterious 'Q' text and base the historical soundness of two of the gospels on this text, but have no record of the text or examples of the text or direct quotes of this text, is this correct? How can we refer to a text and support other texts based on a text we do not have evidence for or know the content of, except that two gospels have commonalities? Have I missed something? Don't we have to determine the veracity of this 'Q' before we can use it to exstablish the veracity of other texts? 'Q is hypothetical. How can a 'hypothetical' text establish the truth of anything?

You speak of the hitorical Jesus but I do not see any historical texts, except that the gospels have some historical aspects. I was expecinally, to see some actual nuetral historical texts, like some accounts from Roman sources, maybe some from gentiles or other middle eastern people, maybe some legal documents from Jewish government or roman Government. Perhaps a solid interview of Jesus Christ from the time he lived by an independent source. Are there any first hand accounts (non-testamonial) of Jesus' sermons?

How is the historcal veracity of the established? Is there any non-biblical/non-gospel support for the veracity of the gosples? Like a record of the crucifixion by Roman government in the Middle East, that fits the biblical crucifixion? Or Jewish/Rabbi accounts? Maybe a Roman record of Jesus' sermons. That would be helpful.

Essentially, how do you verify the gospel to base your views on if you rely on a hypothetical text? I assume support has to be true and able to be shown to be true. How do you verify something that is hypothetical? I also assume that support has to be non-biased or at least able to be verified by neutral parties. What are your standards for truth? All I see you citing is testimony, and testimony from one source.

Thanks for clearing this up.Mr. Cnoreply@blogger.com
